Fragment of a wooden water pipeline with tube driller

Zwickau, 16th century

Wooden pipes guaranteed the peoples’ supply with drinking water since the early modern era.

Water springs could be found nearby the Zwickau city center in Auerbach, Eckersbach, Reinsdorf and Marienthal. The pipes led to boxes spread over the complete city area.
