Hand ax

flintstone, middle Paleolithic, ca. 80,000 to 60,000 BC

This hand ax was found by a French prisoner of war when extracting clay in an area nowadays known as Flurstrasse in Zwickau. This hand ax is supposed to be the oldest evidence that human beings lived around Zwickau in these early days.
